The Australian Coastal Society invites you to submit an abstract at the 8th Queensland Coastal Conference held jointly with the 16th National Coast to Coast Conference. The Conference will be held from 4 – 6 June 2025 at Mantra on View Surfers Paradise, QLD.

Embracing our Coastal Lifestyle: Connecting our experiences with the future. This year’s conference theme acknowledges the importance of the coastal lifestyle to communities emphasising the need to learn from our past experience and learnings while incorporate emerging knowledge to support future resilient coastal communities.

Practitioners, scientists, planners, managers, communicators, engineers, policy makers, social scientists, researchers, and professionals working in coastal environments are invited to submit an abstract.

Presenters should consider the following sub-themes when preparing abstract submissions:

  • Coastal adaptation and resilience
  • Applied coastal management (engineering)
  • Catchment to coast – the estuary interface
  • Creative Coastal communities: Local knowledge, community groups and caring for Sea Country
  • Marine ecosystems and Nature-based strategies
  • Policy, planning and legal insights
  • Sustainable coastal environments and blue futures
  • Join colleagues and share your experiences and ideas!

 

CLOSING DATE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Friday 31 January 2025

Presentation Types

  1. 20 Minute Oral Presentation: Presentation for a concurrent session, including question time
  2. 10 Minute Oral Presentation: Presentation for a concurrent session, no question time
  3. Poster Presentation: Electronic posters will be displayed during the conference with an opportunity to provide a 3 minute presentation. Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding poster presentation, and people’s choice.

All presentation modes require an abstract to be submitted.
