The Conference Organising Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the 9th QLD Coastal Conference, proudly hosted by Mackay Regional Council. The Conference will be held from 2 – 4 June 2027 at Mantra Mackay, QLD.

The Conference theme is Connected Coastlines: Collaboration across QLD. This theme emphasises that effective coastal management is built on collaboration and a
shared understanding of coastal values and impacts affecting coastal communities; highlighting the value of collaboration across local and state government, Traditional Owners, industry, researchers, organisations and communities.

Abstract submissions are invited from practitioners, scientists, planners, managers, engineers, students, community members, policy makers, researchers, Traditional Owners and other professionals working or with an interest in coastal environments.
We welcome presentations that share practical case studies, research findings, innovative approaches, lessons learned, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to improved coastal management across Queensland.

Presenters should consider the following topics when preparing abstract submissions:

2. Applied coastal management and engineering
3. Catchment to Reef
4. Creative Coastal communities: Local knowledge, community groups and caring for Sea Country
5. Blue futures: Sustainable coastal environments and marine ecosystems
6. Policy, planning and legal insights
7. Technology and innovation
