City of Gold Coast

The City of Gold Coast (City) is the local government authority responsible for managing the Gold Coast region in south-east Queensland.

As the second largest local government in Australia, catering to a growing population, it plays a crucial role in providing essential services, maintaining transport and infrastructure as well as promoting community well-being.

The Local Government Area is divided into 14 divisions and operates under a mayor-council system. Together with the Mayor, community elected divisional Councillors make decisions on a wide range of issues, including urban planning, environmental sustainability, community services and economic development which support the City’s strategic vision for the future.
